Today’s Monday, so meetings, projects, response papers, classes and hectic deadlines have officially started up again. Once more. Sigh.
The best part though, is that I no longer have to scavenge around for food anymore because Harvard opened up the dining halls again! On the other hand, I’m going to miss having an excuse to try out all the restaurants and eating places in the square. Over the break, I went to Fire and Ice with my friends because it was College Buffet Day, so we got all we could eat for 9.99!
The food was delicious. I’ve eaten at Fire and Ice before (senior prom), but I think my tastebuds forgot all the savory flavors and succulence of a freshly grilled steak with sauce and whatever else my heart desires because it was like a whole new experience.
Best part was at the end when the waiter tried to rip us off and charge us 11.99, but we weren’t about to take that lying down. Remember how I said I’d miss the excuse to eat out all the time? I take that back because it had crazy effects on my bank account.
But I start my job with the Crimson Callers on Tuesday! Hooray for income! I need it more than ever now that I’m saving up for a camera and a possible trip to Miami this summer (but that’s all still in the works so who knows).
Black and Brilliant 2013
One thing about Harvard, is that they come up with the wittiest names for things and I really appreciate it.
Would have stayed longer, but I actually need to read an entire book and write a paper on said book. So an hour was all I could dedicate to that event.
The food was on point…and so were my shoes : ) Get it? They’re gold tipped pointed heels? I crack myself up when I’m tired. And other times too.
just had a really good bible study sesh
I’m going to try and make it a point to be more involved with church in general this semester because it’s nice and refreshing
These are late, but at one point a few weeks ago my friends and I went the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston because none of us had any homework to do since school hadn’t technically started yet and it was great. Plus it was nice to get into the city since we didn’t really do it as much as I would have liked next semester. I loved the Mario Testino fashion photography exhibit. His portraits of the royal family were stunning. But the guards were all up in my face about taking photos : ) no one cared about snapping shots in the European art wing though so there you go.
Yinka is wearing stiletto ankle booties because that’s what Yinka does. She knit that scarf too. I’m glad we’re friends : )
I have zero shame about pulling a “the hills are alive with the sound of music” pose in front of the museum even though I got some weird looks.
Me on the last day of winterbreak when I was still in California. It was 75 degrees outside. Beautiful, balmy, sunshine everywhere and blue skies.
The first week back at Harvard was actually pretty warm relative to what it could have been. I think it was about 38 or 40 degrees but it was sunny so it felt warmer (I’m only wearing tights and my lightweight raincoat I got from ilikefall for 5 dollars). My floppy hat got a bunch of compliments, but it also kept catching the wind and flying into the dirt which was slightly annoying.
Then just when I think I’m doing okay with the chill…BAM a few weeks ago during blizzard Nemo I had a quick 5 minute foray into the wilderness to get food from CVS so I wouldn’t have to leave my room again for the rest of the storm. Because it was that serious.
It’s supposed to blizzard again tomorrow. Yes, I now use blizzard as a verb because I think I’ve earned that right : ). Surprisingly, I really don’t mind the snow that much and I prefer it to rain…..but that doesn’t mean I’m a fan of blizzards and snow storms either.
Slowly making that transition from a west coast gal to a real northerner I suppose. Here are some of the pics I took during the quick adventure into the snow. The signs frosted over. People are just walking in the street because the governor put a travel ban so people weren’t allowed to drive their cars in the weather.
i’ve been pretty m.i.a guys…
So some point this week (honestly probably late late this week…as in like Sunday or something) I’m going to do a mega post on everything important/relevant that’s happened in the past two weeks of being back at school : ) I haven’t forgotten about you all, stuff is just going on right now!
